As a food reviewer, I have personally tried the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles and was impressed by the generous portion size and flavorful broth. The hand-pulled noodles paired perfectly with the tender slices of beef and bok choy, creating a hearty and satisfying meal.
Overall, Dunhuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle is a gem in Flushing, offering delicious Chinese cuisine in a casual and inviting atmosphere. Whether you are in the mood for a warm bowl of beef noodle soup or flavorful lamb skewers, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

The food was delicious. Service was on point. We got our food fast. I would recommend getting one of the burgers with the noodles so you can dip it in the broth - it tastes amazing! The restaurant looks relatively new and everything is clean. Would definitely come back!

Been here a few times since they opened and it never disappoints! The soup is super flavorful and meat plentiful and tender. The combo is my usual go to, it comes with pickled cabbage and a soda with the entree being the beef noodles. Their skewers are also great and no complaints. I had the chicken and fish tofu. There are plenty of seats as it is much bigger than their old place up the block. The service is quick too and the servers are very attentive. 5 all day!

I've been here a few times already and I can say the noodles here are excellent. I like that you can order your noodles based on types. ie regular, thick, wide, extra wide. Noodles are freshly made and super long. Ask for a pair of scissors to cut! My kids favorite is the original lanzhou beef noodles with regular noodles. The Liang pi was good the first time I had it but I wish it had more gulten. Tomato egg noodles- this was ok if you like that starchy taste Zha jiang noodles- this was my favorite. Very flavorful. I also like that food comes out super fast. There's chilli oil on the table but it is not spicy at all. Another plus is that there's a small parking lot which is hard to come by in Flushing.

Food ... ambiance ... service.. greatloved the beef noodle soup . Clean place !! Great food for the price $$!!

Dunhuang should change their name to highlight their skewers because their skewers were the highlight of the meal. But the noodles are cool too. Ambiance is casual but nice, our party of four was seated in a comfortable booth and the service was quick. We ordered the lamb skewers, three signature Lanzhou Beef noodles and an order Chongqing Spicy cold noodles. The skewers came out piping hot and were well seasoned, juicy, and tender. The Lanzhou Beef Noodles are decent and easily elevated by the chili oil and vinegar that they provide at each table. Sadly no matter how much chili oil you add, you don't really get the hit of spice you're looking for. They don't give a lot of protein either but for 11 dollars it is what it is. The Chongqing cold noodles were sadly not that flavorful but the noodle texture was better than the ones For a quick and affordable meal I would come to Dunhuang. But I don't think I would come for the noodles. Maybe I'll try one of the other locations to compare and contrast.

Inside the restaurant is clean and spacious. When I walked in they said I could sit anywhere. They asked if I wanted water or tea and handed me a menu. I ordered the braised beef noodles. The food arrived in ten minutes. The bowl was huge. I tried the soup first. It was a little salty and not too spicy. The noodles were handmade and it shows. They were springy and had a good chew. There were lots of pieces of beef. It's not the best quality of beef, full of tendon and gristle but it had strong beef flavor. I like the bok choi which added a different texture to the dish. I was impressed by the meal.

I visited Dunhuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle because I was in the mood for some serious noodle action (let's be honest, when am I not?). The portions here are impressively generous, offering great value for money. The noodles were perfectly bouncy, and the broth was bursting with flavor. However, be warned: the spiciness is quite mild, and adding their chili oil doesn't do much to amp up the heat. My sister, a spice enthusiast, added a ton of chili oil, but even then, the broth didn't hit her desired spice level (despite turning a deeper red). For me, though, the spice was just right. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a try. The food is affordable, the flavors are classic, and the portions are enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites (you might need a nap afterward). Unpopular opinion, but I still prefer Lanzhou Handmade Noodles at the New World Mall for their unlimited chili oil and pickled green station (sometimes, you just need that extra kick). If you're craving delicious noodles and are okay with a mild spice level, Dunhuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle is definitely worth a visit! :)

They changed locations, and it is now located closer to main street. I ended up going to the original location, and that's where I found this out. They were kind enough to point me in the right direction. I went to the new location, and it's much larger and more pmodernized compared to the older version. Foodwise, I got the wood-ear mushroom salad, which was a bit bland, so I was able to put chili oil on it, and it gave it a better flavor. I also got the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles, which came in a soup. It was just average, but price point wise, it was evenly matched. I'm glad I was finally able to try this place as I had it bookmarked.

Under a different name in the storefront, I didn't realize it was Dunhuang until I took a look at their burger wrapper. Our noodles came out quickly after we ordered. There is a bit of a difference between the Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles ($11.95) and the Braised Beef Noodles ($13.50), but nothing particularly jarring. Both had the same delicious hand pulled noodle texture, with a welcoming warm broth that will get you wanting more. My pick though, surprisingly, was their Lamb Skewers ($11.95). Their Lamb Skewers came with 5 pieces, and they were fatty, and earthy tasting while glazed in the most beautiful seasoning. Their Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger ($5.95) was full of juice, like a hearty stew in a bun. Dunhuang remains to be my choice for hand pulled noodles, and I'm happy to see how much they've expanded.

All noodles are handmade and it shows in the taste and texture. Depending on the type, they can be hand-pulled (thin) or cut from a sheet (wide). You can specify the width of your noodles for any noodle dish you order. Your choices are: Thin, Regular, Thick, Wide & X-Wide. I love wide pastas like pappardelle, so I ordered the X-Wide for my Beef Noodle Soup. The noodles are cut about 1/2" wide and the edges curl up like lasagna when cooked. They go great with the mild flavored broth and slices of beef and daikon radish. It's also loaded with cilantro, my favorite herb & garnish. After the noodles & beef are gone, I slurp up the bowl of soup. You get a large ladle/spoon, but who needs that? Table manners? Pffft, I'm not too proud to lift the bowl up and drain every last drop. To supplement the noodle dishes, the cold appetizers are pretty good. The Woods Ear Salad was a little more vinegary than I'd like, but my wife likes it that way. The rubbery texture and bite were perfect though. The Spicy Sliced Beef & Tripe is what I liked, with the perfect level of heat for me. If we were more hungry, I would have ordered the Cumin Lamb Buns and maybe some Lamb skewers, but that's saved for next time!
